Updating Your Nomination

Your nomination is usually respected, so it’s important to keep it up to date, especially if you:

  • Get married or enter a civil partnership
  • Divorce or dissolve a civil partnership
  • Start or end a long-term relationship

Please note: while your nomination will normally be followed, Lothian Pension Fund retains discretion over the final decision.

If a nomination is made for a child under 16 and the lump sum is over £5,000, payment will be made via the Accountant of Court to ensure the funds are protected until the child turns 16.
